Prism

In 1996, John was writing hardcore techno (think Scott Brown etc.) as John D, and decided to experiment with a slower, more melodic form of hardcore (think Slipmatt, Hixxy etc.). Having recently taken to the decks, John adopted the name Prism and began writing some of the tunes which characterised the early days of Toucan (then Frantik), such as "Your Smile" and "Voyage To Pluto". By 1998, John was experimenting with drum & bass sounds, and wrote his final hardcore track in November, but kept the Prism name for spinning drum & bass, house and trance.
